Carinity Education Collective Bargaining

Collective bargaining is currently underway in Carinity Education schools. Comparable wages, revised hours of duty and enhanced leave provisions are key issues for members in this round of bargaining.

IEUA-QNT organiser Alica Walters said members were seeking wage increases in line with comparable salary levels paid to counterparts in state schools and other Christian schools.

“Members know that comparable rates of pay are essential to attract and retain quality employees within Carinity schools,” she said.

Other key provisions sought by employees in this round of bargaining include:

  • Support for graduate teachers & mentors
  • Recognition of prior relevant work history and qualifications
  • Domestic Violence Leave
  • Natural Disaster leave
  • Improved Hours of Work provision recognising the workloads of all employees
  • Enhanced LSL provisions
  • Professional Development for all staff
